READY FOR THE FUTURE
Having received the green light for the third and last phase of the NCCR
Nanoscale Science, the Swiss Nanoscience Institute is well on its way to
prove its ability to stand on its own feet. Owing to various additional
commitments like the one of the Canton Aargau, the successful implementation
of the Swiss National Science Foundation's Transfer Projects as well as the
increase of the University of Basel's funding, I am looking forward to an
interesting year 2010. The growing public interest as well as the exploding
number of industrial applications of nanotechnology promise strong long-time
perspectives for the SNI. In the year 2010 we will have to continue our
education program, our outreach activities and our technology transfer
measures. But first of all, let's continue our fruitful interdisciplenary
research.

THE SNI WEBSITE HAS A NEW LOOK
The SNI has set up a new Web page. It was planned to change to this new version in a more official way. A chain of unforeseeable events has forced our team to hurry up and present the new look already today.
